".....GOD....."

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."

"Why do you say that?" asked the customer. "Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering or pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things.

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."

"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers do not exist because if they did there would not be people with long dirty hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers do exist! What happens is that people do not come to me."

"Exactly!" affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too DOES exist! What happens is that people don't come to HIM and do not look for HIM. That is why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

Kapil,
If you have found god, believe me I envy you!
I hope & wish what you say is true.
But, the question tht bothers me is where, within myself shall I search....where do I start? - Venkatesh

Dear Venketash,
What is God according to you ?. First question u must seek is what is god?, then automatically u will find the way to god. For me God is UNCONDITIONAL LOVE ,Unshakable Faith in ourslef, Dropping EGO,Dropping JEALOUSY, Dropping ANGER, Dropping Selfisheness & My search is still on. I truely believe if a person creates Unconditional love within him for all living beings inspite of what they are, if a person drops ego-anger-jealousy-selfishenss then he will find God within him & then he dont need any statue or any other external source to pray god. By closing his eyes he can feel god within him, he can pray god within him. To seek God is inner journey & not outer joureny. So venketash what is GOD according to you?
Venketash about me, Well still i have not found GOD within me, as I am still practising all the acts which i said above. Journey towards GOD is not so easy. There is lot of hardship in starting stage,But once u cross all this hardships then journey is very easy & smooth. - Kapil

there is a old story that a person went to a saint and said- " o great saint,, i want to see god ! is it possible?"
the saint asked- "Do you? my son"
The person replied- "yes, of course"
then come with me,,,the saint said.
the saint took him to a river, and soon they started to sail.
when the boat reached the middle of the river, the saint pushed the man.
The man fell into the river and started shouting.
The saint started pressing him inside water,so that he began to drown.
when the man was about to loose consciousness, the saint pulled him out and took back to his ashrama.
Till this time, the man has regained his consciousness.
The saint asked-" when you were drowning,,what was the only thought that came to your mind?"
The man replied-"that somehow i get saved"
saint-" did anything else come to your mind?"
The man replied- "No"
saint-"were you restless?"
The man replied-"yes,i was going to die!"
"In the same way my son, when the only thought in your mind would be of seeing the lord and you would be as restless that if you do not see him,u'll loose your life,,, you will definitely see him"-the saint said. - Ritesh

To the participants
Pls don't talk about things which you are not clear about.

If you need clarification, then ask for the clarification. If you think that by stating your thoughts with a full stop, you are sharing, you are not.

God. This is not a simple thing to be discussed in this community. Know why? for a simple reason, that voluntery personal development is a part of the 'Buddhi' - Intellect.

God can be felt only through Manas. Manas is something which involves ones' spiritual self too. If so, how would buddhi have a place in the picture? We are in a community which works on Buddhi alone.

Right?

Venkatesh,
Would like to talk to you

Ritesh,
Anology is good.

Kapil,
You have stated right things.

Where is the Gap
The gap is, Come out of the intellectual level.
If you have to search for something, go and search in the place where it would be available.

Take this formulae along with you for the search.
Sathsangathve nissangathvam,
nissangathve nirmohathvam,
nirmohathve nischalathathvam,
nischalathathve jeevan mukthi

By the way, what exactly is the requirement?
To reach God,
To attain Moksha or
To get various Sidhdhis?

OOPS..... You can attain God thru buddhi ;) believe me, ask for the secret

Vidhi,
Thanks for the prompt

Nice example !!!!!!

Well....i feel
We can know what God is not but we cannot know what he is.
Nobody has seen him, But we can easily see his creations in Man,animals, plants, nature etc.
Its really pity that people waste their time and money on
that God whom they never met and never try to do something for
the people they can see in front of them who lives in poverty, starving, dying of illness or in some kind of trouble.
God is within all his creations ..........It would be the biggest prayer of him if we could do something for the betterment of his creations.

Do something for Someone gladly
It will sweeten your every care
In sharing the sorrows of others
your own are less hard to bear.

Do something for someone always
whatever may be your creed
there is nothing on earth can help you
As much as a kindly deed.

These are all my views.
No Offence Plz.
